Original felt backing with wire
loops. A Yeomanry (Irregular Cavalry) Regiment raised during
the Boer War from Scotsmen living in South Africa and
commanded by the Marquis of Tullibardine who later became the
Duke of Atholl. A second regiment was raised in 1901 from
volunteers from Scotland and Australia. A rare and original
badge.

Corps WW1 hallmarked silver medal inscribed with recipients
name. These were issued to the Defence Corps who served during
the duration of the First World War as they were not entitled
to receive any medals. Beautifully made and bearing the
Birmingham hallmark for 1926 and jewellers mark F&S. A heavy
solid medal with silver clasp. 4 x 3.5 cm.VGC
